We will kick-off the new auction season with this highly varied noble house sale, containing several collections from private collectors.
The catalogue commences with an extensive amount of silver objects, varying from a pair of Dutch silver sauce boats by Isacq Samuel Busard dating from 1735 (estimate lot 10 € 8.000 - 12.000) to a pair of Danish silver candelabra, designed by Georg Jensen in the early 20th century (estimate lot 5 € 5.000 - 8.000).
Remarkable is the large amount of jewellery in this sale, of which many set with diamonds, such as the platinum and fancy yellow diamond solitaire ring by Tiffany & Co (estimate lot 58 € 10.000 - 15.000). For the collectors of separate gemstones we offer a collection of no less than 31 sapphires and spinels.
For the gentlemen several exclusive watches are on offer as well, of which the 18 carat gold Patek Philippe Gondolo wristwatch will be favoured (estimate lot 127 € 10.000 - 20.000). Besides Patek Philippe, other brands such as Rolex, Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Bucherer, Jaeger-LeCoultre and Chopard are also represented.
The catalogue leads you via a collection of clocks, dating from the 18th up to the 20th century, to an arsenal of European furniture. Of museum quality is the early 18th century marquetery veneered Louis XIV Mazarin desk, inlaid with walnut, olive and fruitwood (estimate lot 201 € 10.000 - 15.000), as well as many other pieces of later date decorated with giltwood, lacquer, parquetry and marquetry, or in Boulle-style.
In the porcelain section you will find several extensive diner services from European origin, as well as the internationally sought after Chinese porcelain. Beside the always favourite blue and white objects, the ‘famille rose’ and ‘famille verte’ is also included, of which the refined ‘fishermen’ deep plate will definately grab your attention (estimate lot 321 € 4.500 - 5.500).
For the aficionados of Asian collectibles we have included netsuke, snuff bottles, jade and lacquer objects, furniture, and paintings. The auction will end with ethnographic art, of which the last lot consists of a rare wood Adu Zatua ancestor figure from Southern Nias (estimate lot 455 € 4.000 - 6.000).
The abovementioned is only a small selection of the vast assemblage offered. We therefore invite you to browse the online catalogue here and hope to welcome you in our saleroom soon!
